Get ready financially

  • Get a Tax File Number  
  • Activate Bank Account with probably the  “Big Four” in our banking world, in alphabetical order, ANZ, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, National Australian Bank (NAB) and Westpac.  


Arrange a house rental

  • Start reviewing some accommodation property options. 
  • Decide on the suburb that you would like to live in. Remember look for an address rather than just a house. 

Transport

  • Having your own car in time is the most convenient way to travel. Yes you can use public transport to start with and information is available at http://www.transperth.wa.gov.au/

Join Medicare & Centrelink

  • Medicare looks after the health of Australians. Please visit https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/dhs/medicare for more information
  • Centrelink is the government agency who deals with job seeking and social security payments. They will be able to help you look for work if you are eligible Information is available at https://www.humanservices.gov.au/


Believe in your big idea

  • As with anything in life, it begins with an idea. It’s a simple idea, which, in this case, is “I think I’ll move to Australia”. Yes, it’s a simple idea but it’s also a very big one and also it is a very big move. It some cases it might be a very daunting task.  
  • Trust and believe in yourself  that you will make it.
